About Aminat 

Hi!

I am Aminat O. OdunEwu-Seese. The owner and founder of The Striving Empire. I was born in Lagos, Nigeria but grew up in Chicago, IL, USA. I am a multi-passionate business owner with a focus on developing myself, growing my businesses, having a fulfilled career and helping others do the same. 

I have always had big dreams that involved being successful in multiple areas. 

My first choice of a career was to be a US Foreign Service Officer. All throughout middle and secondary school, I had a love for all things related to politics and international affairs. I pictured myself making policy, interacting with members of foreign governments, speaking at the United Nations and other high level diplomatic responsibilities. This drive led to me getting a BA in Political Science and International Studies. 

​While pursing my undergraduate degree, I became really involved in community advocacy, youth development and immigrant rights. I also became extremely involved in my local Muslim community. I led halaqas, planned meetups and organized other community-building initiatives. During this time (and after), I worked as a Youth Development Coordinator for a Non-Profit. I really enjoyed my job but decided to pursue graduate school. I still wanted to work in international relations and politics but realized that I wanted to focus on development (The goal here was to work for a Think-Tank, NGO or USAID). With this new focus in mind, I attended The University of Birmingham in Birmingham, UK for an MSc in International Political Economy and International Development. I absolutely loved this program. The things I learned, the research projects that I worked on and the industry leaders that I met, all made me excited to get into this line of work.

It was while pursuing my graduate degree that Striving For Clarity was born. After Striving For Clarity, came Striving For Modesty, and then Flawless Faces with Aminat, and lastly The Flawless Academy. All of the ventures together, makes up The Striving Empire

There are so many different things that I work on, and I absolutely love giving my all to each and every one of them. I am the definition of "Multi-Passionate" and very much capable in succeeding at all that I do. It took me a while to be comfortable with being "Multi-Passionate" and not feeling like I had to choose one thing. As soon as I made the decision to embrace all of my interests and plans, things started to fall in place. All of my endeavors began to succeed. 

If someone were to ask me what my goals are, I'd say 

To make The Striving Empire the ultimate lifestyle brand for women- A brand that is rooted in Faith, Sisterhood, Community and Empowerment. To motivate others to develop themselves and their passions. To excel as a Political Economist & Statistician. To be an amazing wife and a loving and caring mother.

I thoroughly enjoy giving  advice to others and helping them succeed in their business and life goals. I love being part of a community. I love learning. I love growing my empire.
